Why Choose CIVA?
Meet Our Team
Our staff creates a safe place to explore new ideas and overcome perceived limitations by creating an environment that fosters community and acceptance.
CIVA specializes in a pedagogy known as Quantum Learning. Quantum Learning is a brain-based approach that results in amazing achievements for our students. Our teachers are thoroughly trained with pedagogy in education and this method empowers them to orchestrate the most engaging lessons possible. Our students take a seminar course on Quantum Learning that helps them discover their dominant learning modality and many other fascinating study techniques.
Our goal is to ensure each student is thoroughly prepared for collegiate success. We have a junior class and senior class that guides students through the college enrollment process. These are just some of our steps to integrate the pedagogy method in our educational structure.
CIVA is an intentionally small school, making it one of the best charter schools in Colorado Springs, voted Best of the Springs several years in a row. Our average class size is 15 students. CIVA offers students one of the most dynamic peer cultures in the Pikes Peak region. Student life at CIVA is different than a traditional high school. We assist each student in developing knowledge of what his/her unique potential is. Coupled with this, we help students to live up to their academic potential, develop artisanship through the performing arts, music, and visual arts, as well as developing discipline and determination via our athletic programs.
Students often comment that CIVA is a place where students actually support one another and that our peer culture is healthy and lively, a contributing factor to being voted one of the best charter high schools in Colorado Springs. We help each other achieve our best when we are willing to encourage and hold each other accountable. This requires a lot of maturity and self-awareness and the benefits are incredible.
To assist each student in becoming a good citizen, we ask each student to volunteer in the community to help them learn the pleasure and responsibility of giving back to society. Each student is required to do 35 hours of service learning each year in order to graduate.
Through the leadership of our students, we ensure that students are encouraged to achieve their best academically, athletically and artistically. Call us today to discover why CIVA Charter School is truly one of the best charter schools in Colorado Springs that offers the pedagogy method in our education strategy.
